Undergraduate Requirements
- Academic Requirements:
The application procedure varies for undergraduate and postgraduate students, so we publish separate information for each. You’ll also need to be able to provide evidence of a specified level of ability in the English language.
The following qualifications may be considered for direct entry to our undergraduate programmes:
- The Higher Secondary Certificate/Intermediate Certificate (Year 12) with grades 3.5/A- or higher, plus an approved Foundation Programme or
- 3 UK A Levels or
- Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB). Information on required grades.
- English Test:
Applicants will normally need to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or 90 TOEFL IBT (Internet based test). However, some degree programmes have higher or lower requirements
Postgraduate Requirements

Entry to graduate diploma or taught Masters programmes usually requires either a UK upper second-class (2:1) or a lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree. For most courses, your major subject or content of your Bachelor degree may also be considered. Please check our Course Finder for detailed entry requirements.
The comparable qualifications from Bangladesh are as follows:
UK Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1)
Applicants should normally have a Masters degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.2/4 or 60%.
Applicants holding a four-year Bachelor degree from Public Universities or selected Private institutions (see list below) with CGPA 3.2/4.0 or B+/65% will also be considered.
Students who have completed a 2 or 3 year Bachelor degree with good grades followed by a good Masters degree will be considered on an individual basis.
UK Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2)
Applicants should normally have a Masters degree from a recognised university with a CGPA 3.0/4.
Applicants holding a four-year Bachelor degree from Public Universities or selected Private institutions (see list below) with CGPA 3.0/4.0 or B/60% will also be considered.
Students who have completed a 2 or 3 year Bachelor degree with good grades followed by a good Masters degree will be considered on an individual basis.
Four Year degrees may be considered from the following Private Institutions:
North South University, Dhaka; Independent University Bangladesh, Dhaka; International Islamic University Chittagong; American International University, Dhaka; East West University, Dhaka; BRAC University, Dhaka; University of Development Alternative, Dhaka; Stamford University, Dhaka; Daffodil International University, Dhaka.
